6 Movies Starring Real Life Parents and Children, In Honor of ‘After Earth’ Starring Will and Jaden Smith

Movie #2 – Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

Year – 2001

It’s not a secret that Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie are father and daughter. It’s also not a secret that they don’t get along that well. While the origins of their rift are vague (they had a “falling out” when he divorced her mother), him referring to her “mental problems” during interviews probably didn’t help any either.

However, they did appear on film together in one of her biggest hits. He plays her father (duh) and while they weren’t estranged at the time it’s easy to believe that they were well on their way. The film seems to take great pains to keep the two separate and when the two characters do finally meet, it’s filmed in a way that’s reminiscent of The Patty Duke Show.

But don’t worry about them. They have sense patched things up…with a little help from Brad Pitt. You can tell who’s from the Midwest.
