For those of you who have been missing your Fabulous Fox Theatre fix… wait no longer.
The Addams Family is a new show that opened on Broadway in March of 2010. It is, of course, based on the cartoon created by Charles Addams, which has been adapted into various films and television shows over the years. Tony Award® nominee Douglas Sills stars alongside Sara Gettelfinger as Gomez and Morticia Addams. Although the characters are the same we know and love, the new show features an original story by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice – with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
In the show,
Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. A man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
