Hubble Space Telescope Photos – Images Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of NASA Great Observatories

20 years ago today – on April 24, 1990 – The Hubble Space Telescope was launched into space by the Discovery, during shuttle mission STS-31.

The Hubble Space Telescope was originally budgeted at a cost of $400 million dollars, but has cost the US upwards of $2.5 billion dollars to this date.  But the knowledge that we have gained from the Hubble Telescope’s Images and Photos has changed the way we look at astronomy forever.
