This was a career-defining match for both men. Both men were always upper-tier mid-carders, but were never looked at as wrestlers who could carry a company. Steamboat always seemed to be overshadowed by Ric Flair, while Savage was always overshadowed by Hulk Hogan. Savage had his share of main event matches, while Steamboat remained a solid mid-card performer throughout his career. But, for one night, both of them stole the show at Wrestlemania 3.
