Synopsis:

Jane is the mother of three grown kids, owns a thriving Santa Barbara bakery/restaurant and has – after a decade of divorce – an amicable relationship with her ex-husband, attorney Jake. But when Jane and Jake find themselves out of town for their son’s college graduation, things start to get complicated. An innocent meal together turns into the unimaginable – an affair. With Jake remarried to the much younger Agness, Jane is now, of all things, the other woman. Caught in the middle of their renewed romance is Adam, an architect hired to remodel Jane’s kitchen. Healing from a divorce of his own, Adam starts to fall for Jane, but soon realizes he’s become part of a love triangle. Should Jane and Jake move on with their lives, or is love truly lovelier the second time around? It’s–complicated.

  • Allison , December 7, 2009

I’d love to go. When and where is the screening? It would be helpful to include that in the initial post. :/

And there’s no way in hell I’m posting an awkward relationship story online. No frakkin’ way. :p

Most awkward time in my relationship was when my girlfriend snuck over to my house and her mom knew about it. So she called and asked me if her daughter was there. I didn’t know what to say so we confessed. I follwed her back home where her mother took a swing at me for corrupting her little girl. Thank god she missed. A few months later her daughter was pregnant and 7 years later we were married.

the most awkward relationship i had was when i was at a party with my cousin. I saw this guy i liked. We started dating but did not know it was my cousins guy. So what did i do married him.

  • Amanda , December 7, 2009

My most awkward relationship was (and I guess still is) when I was dating my best friend’s ex. I would never endorse cheating but I will admit that the same day they broke up, I called her ex. 3 years later (November 7, 2009), we got married. I have never told her that we dated the same week they broke up but “to each his own” right?

  • Melissa , December 7, 2009

The most awkward relationship story was my junior year in college. My parents met someone from church and set us up on a blind date. I am not sure why I agreed but my parents insisted we were a perfect match. Within the first 10 minutes of the date, I knew we were on 2 different planets. The date dragged on and on for hours. I finally had to make up an excuse and fake having an upset stomach. Needless to say, I go to a different church now and my parents have put an end to their match maker days. It was a sweet idea but they must not know me at all. 🙂

  • Ric , December 7, 2009

I met someone @ work, & was with her for over 5 years, broke up, & still had to work with them. Ugh!

  • Janet , December 8, 2009

I was nice to a geek who wound up pestering me and telling people I was his girl friend. I was just starting a good relationship with Ed, a tall, athletic guy who I confided in about the “pest”. The pest happened to stop by my house when Ed was there and I introduced Ed as my boyfriend. Ed crushed pest’s hand so bad I never heard from pest again. I married Ed.

  • JoanO , December 8, 2009

My most awkward dating relationship was when I was 19 and had three dates in one evening and could not keep my calendar straight. It’s been too long ago to remember the details, but I remember that it was awkward.

  • Michael , December 8, 2009

Blind dates are always awkward. This movie looks great.

  • Danny Gardabie , December 8, 2009

This is the year MERYL STREEP will win OSCAR #3 for Julie & Julia. Has anyone else noticed the STARS of this movie (Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin) are the year’s Oscar host. Think about that as MERYL wins and her co-stars are on stage clapping and cheering. Nothing Complicated about it. I LOVE MERYL STREEP! Give me this pass and I will yell it out in the screening.

  • carol , December 8, 2009

Walked into an art show and there were 3 women that I had dated, plus my current date. They spent some time comparing notes with my date.

  • Robyn , December 8, 2009

I was dating my neighbor who lived across the street, but we didn’t want either of our families to know. So we had to hide our relationship, even though we saw each other often. Constantly pretending that nothing was going on became so draining…so we finally ended it.

  • lv_freeman , December 8, 2009

I went out with a guy who was only interested in finding a mother for his kids. He kept putting the kids on the phone with me and wanting to make the date a family date. Needless to say there was only one date.

  • Holly , December 8, 2009

I dated this guy in High School and I dated him for 3 years but then I graduated high school and I found out his family was screwed up. His older brother was convicted of murder and his mom got in bar fights and some guy his mom was dating said he wanted to buy a house with her and then he took her money. His other brother had two kids who were not good kids and they peed on the couch and everything. I am so glad that I broke up with him.

  • Delores , December 9, 2009

Relationship stories? I could literally write a book. Let’s just suffice to say I am on my 4th husband right now, and blondes do have MORE fun!!

  • Adam , December 9, 2009

Well, I went to visit my best friend’s sister at her apartment in college. Turned out, I fell for her roommate and we got married. We have neither one talked to the original girl, my wife’s ex-best friend.

  • Lori , December 9, 2009

I was dating two guys at the same time and I was getting hot and heavy with one when the other found us – can you say awkward! I was down to one guy after that. 🙁

  • KK , December 9, 2009

I had a first date with this guy and we went to a museum. He asked if I had a school ID so we could get discounted tickets. problem was I had graduated college 5 years ago and he was probably 7 years out from school. Who still carries their school ID with them in your late 20s?

  • Mike , December 9, 2009

I was always pretty shy so it was really hard for me to ask a girl on a date. I guess every attempt was really awkward for me. Thank goodness that stage of life is over for me. This looks like a funny movie. Would love to see it.

  • jenny , December 9, 2009

I was dating a guy for about 6 months..we broke up but stayed friends. My new bf and I went to visit a friend of mine and the ex was there…WEll, I thought everything was fine. He locked himself in the bathroom and threatened to kill himself if I didn’t take him back..AWKWARD…I talked to him but he persisited and we had to call police. He was taken into the hospital for evaluation. : (

  • Laura , December 9, 2009

I once dated a guy who was the ex boyfriend of my childhood best friend. A few weeks after we stopped seeing each other they got back together.

  • Lora , December 10, 2009

All relationaships have an awkward stage!!!! Especially the morning after the first time you spend the night together!!

  • Sheila , December 10, 2009

I had been dating this guy since Memorial Day. He’d introduced me to his mom as his girlfriend, etc. Then in August he announced he was moving to Wisconsin. When he called to ask me out for a last date before he left, I told him it didn’t matter to me that he was leaving because I never really thought of him as my boyfriend. I don’t know why I lied — I think I was trying to save us from awkwardness — but the rest of the phone conversation was the most awkward phone call of my life.

  • Jen , December 10, 2009

Really want to see this movie. No awkward story

  • Mike , December 10, 2009

My parents walked in on my girlfriend and me in my room and they didnt even know she was over.

  • tara , December 10, 2009

in india they have arranged marriages and it is most awkward to find that the bride to be had been vetted and seen by all the cousins as a potential bride

  • j.s. , December 11, 2009

My friend went with this guy for 3 years, and a week before the wedding, he called it off (cold feet) and have not heard from him since.

  • Ericka Simpson , December 11, 2009

I dated by college boyfriend’s best friend years later. It was always awkward telling people how we met.

  • Melissa Gibson , December 11, 2009

My ex called while the new man was with me to cuss me out about how I better be through with whatever I was doing before he got back in town. But the kicker was that I hadn’t heard from the ex in over three months and the last thing he said was this is over! LOL

  • Lisa , December 12, 2009

In High School, my husband and I dated each other’s best friends. My husband and I started dating in college and have been married for 18 years. It still is a little awkward when we get together with our friends even after all these years!

  • Chad , December 13, 2009

My fiance told me that she needed me to talk to her co worker who had been harassing her at work. I talked to him and told him to leave her alone. Soon after that I found out they had been sleeping together for three months….

  • Tabby , December 13, 2009

I dated a guy in high school for a couple of years prior to my parents relocating. The night before the move, I had a party to say bye to my friends. While preoccupied with guests, someone stole my stereo! No witnesses… Years later we got back together. He later confessed that he had taken my stereo! I couldn’t get past it and broke it off.

  • Zac , December 13, 2009

I dated two girls that looked very similar. While visiting my mom, she offered to give my girlfriend a ride home. Well, my mom drove her to the other girls house! Both were very confused when my girlfriend stated that she doesn’t live there but her good friend does!

  • Jessica , December 13, 2009

I’ve been married to my husband Dave for three years. His family lives in Kansas City. Last year we got together for the holidays for the first time. He went on and on about his cousin Robbie and how they hung out when Robbie visited St. Louis. What a shocker that when I met Robbie, I recognized him instantly. He was a traveling salesman for a company I used to work for and had a crazy and disastrous affair with my boss, as they were both marries..they both lost their jobs. It was quite awkward as he was apparently still with his wife.

  • NeOnD , December 14, 2009
